In 2002 Eric Leger approached M.Graham with the offer to buy a piece of his land to plant an organic apple orchard. M.Graham, a Hudson dairy farmer, thought this was a wonderful idea and agreed. The rest is history….
Since that day a lovely orchard of semi-dwarf apple trees grows on that land and Eric Leger has realized his dream.
I took Mason and the family to the orchard on Sunday and cannot say enough good things about my visit. Mason “helped” me pick a basket of beautiful organic apples but was happier and more interested in sitting in front of the basket to sample his loot.
Their petting zoo is not quite a zoo. Housing one proud and pig and several dashing chickens, it quickly became a diversion from all the eating. While Papoo showed Mason up close, I had the chance to do some shopping at their boutique.
Chock-full of goodies which are produced in-house the boutique features apple cider vinegar, pure apple juice, honey, and garlic just to name a few.
Located at 839 Main Street in Hudson it is definitely worth the drive….especially if you are looking to eat local and pesticide-free fruit. Located right next to Le Nichoir in Hudson, with a little planning, you could make this a two for one outing.
